Earth Day Celebration at The Golden Age of Trucking Museum

On Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 12-4pm, The Golden Age of Trucking Museum, a non-profit organization, will be holding an Earth Day Celebration”. This event will be held rain or shine and weather permitting will be set up outdoors.  Regular museum admission prices will apply that day to view the museum and the public is invited. There is no fee to view the exhibits that will be set up outdoors. As always, museum members will be admitted free of charge into the museum.

The goal for the event is to educate the public on ways to keep our planet green and to provide an interactive experience showing people what wonderful things our earth provides us if we take care of it. I am reaching out to you to be a part of this fun filled celebration of our earth. Flea market and vendor spaces will be available. A space approximately 8x8 will be available for $25.00 per space. This space can be for the teenager wanting to earn extra money by selling used games, books, clothing...to a family moving to a new home and getting rid of no longer needed furniture...  This is one way in which we are helping the environment by recycling instead of throwing away items into our landfills.

Perhaps you craft your own jewelry, make your own soap, candles, candy, furniture, or clothing or you package spices, jams or canned goods. This event is the perfect place to promote and sell your items. It would be wonderful to also demonstrate your talent at your space during the day.

If you are a farmer of herbs, vegetables or flowers and would like to promote your business and sell your products during our celebration this is a wonderful opportunity for you. Perhaps you might set up a display to teach the children some simple facts about your trade and how important farming is for the earth.

You may raise animals; milking your cows, making cheese from your goats milk or spinning yarn from your sheep’s wool. Think about bringing your animal and/or perhaps doing a demonstration. Space will also be available for food vendors promoting “farm to table” fresh products and businesses that would like to promote their “green business”.

If you have any questions about the event or would like to reserve a space please call the museum during regular business hours or visit the web site and drop us an e-mail. The museum is opened year round Tuesday through Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 12-4 at 1101 Southford Road in Middlebury.  Please call 203-577-2181.
